Hello! I’m Novita.

I’m a stay-at-home mom living in Tokyo with my little family. We’re originally from Indonesia. My son and I moved to Tokyo in 2008 when I got married to my husband who has been living here since 1999. This is the story of how I met my husband.

Shortly after moving to Tokyo, I found myself with lots of free time and I decided to restart this old hobby that I hadn’t been doing for almost ten years. It was one of the best decision in my life! This blog was started as my sewing journal so I can look at and learn from my past projects. I also tried other craft like knitting, crocheting, or needle felting, but always went back to sewing.

In 2013 our family started to foster dogs for ARK (Animal Refuge Kansai). These dogs are abandoned or stray dogs, we take care of them them before they find a forever home. It is such a wonderful and loving journey for our little family. Then we met our newest family member, Fuwawa, a female Chinese Crested dog who was 7 years old when we adopted her in September 2013.

These are my sewing machine and serger. I use Janome Equle CP 4850 , (used since February 2010, replacing my Janome Agneau d’Or Y101. Both are only available in Japan.) and Babylock BL-75 – similar to Babylock Imagine (used since March 2012. It was a gift from a very kind lady!).

My newest machine is Juki TL-Y10SP, an industrial one that I got in April 2015.
