This is a picture that my husband took two years ago when Sidra and I were about to go to IKEA, a week after we arrived in Tokyo. We needed to buy some furniture because our apartment was a bit empty after my husband got rid of his ‘single’ furniture. You know, single couch, single bed, small TV, small bookshelves, etc.
That was one of those moments where everything was reset to zero and started over. The apartment was empty and we were about to fill it with our stuff. My husband left his single life and started something new. I gave all my stuff away and flew to Tokyo with only two luggages to carry. Sidra left his Indonesian school and had to go to a Japanese kindergarten where everybody spoke in strange language. He also got himself a new father. It was the beginning of our life here. We were all a bit afraid, but also very excited. Maybe my smile wasn’t big enough in the picture, but in my heart I smiled wider.
Actually I got tagged by this coolest woman, Pip from Meet Me at Mike’s for this cute game, and that was the reason I posted this picture. I was a bit busy this week and missed my blog, so thank you, Pip, for giving me a reason to post something!

Thank you! Well I take my camera everywhere I go, sometime snapping them at seemingly unimportant objects. My husband has his own camera too, and even Sidra sometimes has one in his bag. I gave him my old camera. So we have lots and lots of photos in our computers

Yes, Momoko dolls from my blog are from Land of Rising Sun! You live in Japan but you do not buy dolls! AWWWWW..what a waste, he he he! Can you tell me how do you trace patterns from Japanese magazines? There is one big sheet of pattern in these mags and it is ‘too precious’ to cut them up, so how do you trace them out? Could you tell me easiest and ‘laziest’ (haha) way? Thank you
Very fun to see Swedish furniture in Japan. I hope you liked the store. Here in Sweden we have a lot of IKEA stores. But no one where I live. We have to drive four hours to find a IKEA.

WOO! I did not know Ikea exist in Japan either. But it makes sense — Ikea has all those model home for under 500 sq ft! perfect for tokyo

It was actually the first IKEA I’ve ever been to. There is no IKEA in Indonesia and I really wanted to see one, so I was very excited!
Oh I guess sometimes it seems that there is no choice but taking that big step in life. Or maybe it is called blinded by love 😀
